Road Superintendent
The Road Department is in charge of construction and maintenance for all of the county roads and bridges. This includes 153 miles of hard-surfaced roadways, 524 miles of granular-surfaced roadways, and 199 miles of earth-surfaced roadways. Excluded from the county system are roads that are located within the corporate limits of any town (except Farm-to-Market roadways), as well as highways on the State system (i.e., U.S. Hwy 2 and Hwy 169).
