Birth Records
Certified copies are available for $20.00 to people of entitlement. We accept cash, check or credit/debit card.
Certified Iowa birth certificates for the years 1983 to present are available at any Recorder's office in the State of Iowa.
When requesting a certified birth record by mail, all completed applications must be notarized and a photocopy of the applicant's current driver's license or other government-issued picture ID is required. All certified copies are $20 each.
Records from 1921 to 1941, single-parent births prior to 1985, legal name changes and adoption records are kept on the state level. The application may be brought into the Ringgold County Recorder's office for ordering or mailed to the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services address in Des Moines, Iowa:
